Four-member Indian team arrives

LAHORE, Oct 21: A four-member Indian delegation reached here through Wagah on Tuesday for promoting peace between the two countries.

The delegation was led by former Rajiya Sabha member and Peoples of Asia Chairperson Nirmla Deshpanday. Other members were Lok Sabha member A.R. Shaheen, Peoples of Asia’s Ilyas Qureshi and M.S. Babita Chaudhry.

They were received by PPP MNA Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad who is also the President of the Pakistan Trade Unions Defence Campaign.

After a brief stay at the residence of Pak-India Peoples Forum for Peace and Democracy activist Brig Rao Abid Hamid (retired), they proceeded to Islamabad by road.

They also attended a reception at the Lala Musa residence of PPP MNA Qamar Zaman Kaira.

In Islamabad, the delegation will meet heads of all political parties, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, some federal ministers and people from different walks of life.

They will also visit Karachi and return to Lahore on Oct 26 for departure to India through Wagah.
