PESHAWAR: Children’s Day observed

PESHAWAR, Oct 21: Parents were asked to concentrate on the character-building of their children to make them successful citizens.

The call came at a seminar which was organized by an NGO, Strengthening Participatory Organization, at Peshawar University’s Archeology Auditorium on Tuesday to mark the World Children’s Day.

Speakers urged elders and the parents to treat their wards affectionately. “They (children) should not be admonished or reprimanded, because it will discourage and erode their confidence. Beating of children is a crime and should be avoided,” they said.—Correspondent
