RAWALPINDI, Oct 19: The Ahl-i-Sunnat Pakistan (ASP) central secretary-general, Allama Riaz Hussain Shah, has urged the Muslims to unite against western propaganda against Islam.
Speaking at the concluding session of ‘Sadaqat-i-Islam Conference’ here at the Liaquat Bagh, the religious leader regretted that Muslims were indifferent to the plight of their brethren in different countries.
He urged the Muslims to stand up against anti-Islamic forces.
Mr Shah hoped Islam would be dominant for ever, now as before, owing to its unique characteristics. It is the only religion today which teaches peace, love and brotherhood, he added.
The hidden forces are always at work to spread propaganda against Islam and the Muslims will have to brace up to defeat this propaganda, he deplored.
The Allama stressed on promoting simplicity. “Some so-called modern and liberal rulers and their followers are more happy to imitate the western culture and habits than strengthen their own system,” he noted and urged such practices should be discouraged.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Pir Mohammad Allauddin, Dr Sahibzada Sajjidur Rehman Sajjid, Allama Abdul Tawab Siddiqui, Pir Khirzar Hussain Shah and others.
The ASP leaders said they would organize an international conference on March 20, 2004 in Lahore to mobilise the faithful against the propaganda being spread by the western countries and America.
