PESHAWAR, Oct 19: NWFP PPP chief Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti has said that a movement against the military government will be launched on Oct 24 which will continue till the restoration of the Constitution.

Talking to a party delegation from Dir district which called on him here on Sunday under the leadership of former MNA Malik Muzaffar Khan, Mr Hoti said PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had initiated the nuclear programme despite the US pressure because he wanted to make the country’s defence impregnable.

He said the late leader did not abandon the nuclear programme despite the pressure from the super powers and even sacrificed his life.

Sacrifices rendered by the Bhutto family were not hidden, he said, adding that Benazir Bhutto had been in exile for the past several years, while her husband Asif Ali Zardari was languishing in jail for the last seven years.

The government, he said, had failed to prove any charges against Asif Ali Zardari who was being punished for being the spouse of Benazir Bhutto.

He asked the party workers to step up efforts against the military government and strive for the restoration of democracy in the country.
