Students to launch protest movement

PESHAWAR, Oct 18: The Pukhtunkhwa Students Organization (PSO) has said that it would launch a protest movement if the government failed to arrest the killers of a Pakhtun student who was murdered on the premises of the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad on Oct 12.

Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, central secretary of the Pukhtunkhwa Students Organisation Hameed Ali Shah said on Oct 10 fighting between students belonging to Pukhtun and Punjab councils took place at the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad. Punjabi students backed by the university’s administration beat up a Pukhtun student, Nasiruddin.

He said despite the fact that an FIR was registered against some students, no one was arrested.

On Oct 12, he said, Nasiruddin, a student of the department of history was killed by Punjabi students.
