KARACHI, Oct 18: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has reshuffled the leadership of its parliamentary group at the national and provincial levels.
Dr Farooq Sattar has replaced Syed Safwanullah as MQM’s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly while Shamim Siddiqui will be deputy parliamentary leader.
In Sindh Assembly, Kunwar Naveed has been made MQM’s deputy parliamentary leader.
According to a statement issued by the ‘Nine Zero’, the decision was taken in a meeting of the adhoc committee, which was also addressed by MQM’s convener Dr Imran Farooq via telephone.
The statement added that the reshuffle had been done to reinforce performance of the party in the parliament and the provincial assembly.
Meanwhile, Dr Imran Farooq constituted three committees under the ad hoc committee to address problems being faced by the people.
