KARACHI, Dec 24: As elsewhere, the 125th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, will be observed in the metropolis on Tuesday with enthusiasm and national spirit.
The day has been declared a public holiday. The national flag will be hoisted on principal buildings of the city.
The cadets of Pakistan Military Academy will mount the guard duty at the mausoleum.
Sindh Governor Mohammadmian Soomro, along with members of the provincial cabinet, will visit the mazar, lay floral wreath and offer Fateha.
The representatives of the three services will also lay floral wreath and offer fateha at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation.
People from various walks of life will visit the mazar of Quaid- i-Azam to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation who created a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Sub-continent.
A grand finale to celebrate the year 2001 as the year of Quaid-i- Azam will also be held in the city on Tuesday.
A number of organisations have chalked out programmes to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Quaid-i-Azam with zeal and enthusiasm to throw light on the life and achievements of the Father of the Nation and his services towards achieving a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Sub-continent.
The Jamshed Town Administration has deployed special teams to carry out cleanliness work in and around the premises of the mausoleum.
Quaid’s relics: The National Museum of Pakistan Karachi has arranged a special exhibition to mark the 125th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
The exhibition will be open to general public on Dec 25 and the entry on the opening day will be free. It will remain open till Dec 31 from 10 am to 5 pm except Wednesday.
The exhibits would include different kinds of relics ie passport belonging to Quaid-i-Azam which was issued by the British Indian Government on July 4, 1931, from London. A sword presented by Muslim League Aligarh to the Quaid on February 6, 1938. A silver replica of bullet signifies his appeal for raising funds for elections.
The other relics of Quaid-i-Azam are Jinnah cap and silver miniature canon.—APP
