Indian award for Nisar

LAHORE,  Oct  15: The Cricket Club of India Limited will posthumously award a Pakistani fast bowler, late Muhammad Nisar, for taking five wickets  while representing the joint Indian cricket  team before partition.

The club will give the award to late Nisar’s son in a function to be held at Mumbai, India on Oct 19.

According to a press release, Nisar holds the record of bowling very first ball in Test for India including very first to claim wicket and claiming five wickets in an innings.

In total, Nisar played six Tests  and took 25 wickets including  three  hauls of five wickets with five for 90 as his best. He played all his six Tests against England.

Also be honoured during the unction is Indian former skipper Kapil Dev under whose leadership India won the World Cup in 1983.
