SARGODHA, Oct 15: The government employee should mend their ways and stop indulging in corruption, otherwise they will be sacked.
This warning was given by the provincial irrigation and power minister, Amir Sultan Cheema, while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday.
The minister said he had been observing the activities of the corrupt police officials. He asked them to control crime and protect the life and property of the common citizen.
Mr Cheema also took serious notice of frequent power outages and directed Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) officials to ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers.
He expressed his concern when some people told him that wire was not available with local Wapda offices and new connections were not being provided due to this reason.
He said the chief minister has provided relief to various departments, including police, communication, education, agriculture, irrigation and social sector to reform society.
LITERARY SITTING: A literary sitting was held at the residence of eminent Urdu scholar Dr Wazir Agha on Tuesday night.
Fayaz Kyani, Ghias Mahmood Cheema, Dr Salim Agha, Mian M. D. Shad and Dr Haroonur Rashid Tabassum expressed their views on the occasion.
Concluding the function, Dr Agha said holding of such meetings was imperative for the promotion of literature. He announced that he would hold literary meetings regularly on monthly basis.
