SIALKOT, Oct 11: Effective measures will be taken to maintain law and order in both Sialkot and Narowal districts.
This was decided during meetings of the district peace committees in Sialkot and Narowal on Saturday.
According to a press release, the meetings were presided over by Sialkot District Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid and Narowal District Nazim Col Javaid Safdar Kahiloon (retired).
The district governments and peace committees also sought cooperation of ulema for maintaining peace and creating harmony among people of different sects.
Peace committees strongly condemned the killing of Millat-i-Islamia Pakistan chief and MNA Maulana Azam Tariq and demanded immediate arrest of his killers. Fateha for the departed soul was also offered.
All the district government machinery, high ranking police officials and ulema from all schools of thought attended the meetings.
APPROVED: The Punjab government has approved the project of establishing a public school on the pattern of Aligarh University at Narowal.
This was stated by Narowal District Nazim Javaid Safdar Kahiloon while talking to newsmen here on Saturday.
He said that provincial and district governments would generate a Rs40 million special grant for the timely construction of the public school.
The school would have the strength of 1,500 students, he said.
PLOTS: The Punjab Small Industrial Cooperation (PSIC) has offered overseas Pakistanis to purchase industrial plots in Punjab’s small industrial estates.
According to the PSIC sources, at least 515 industrial plots of different sizes are available in small industrial estates in different districts of the Punjab.
