Gurdaspur attack condemned

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office condemned Monday’s attack in Indian Punjab’s Gurdaspur district that left at least 10 dead, and also offered sympathies and condolences to the government and people of India.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist incident in Gurdaspur, India, today, in which a number of precious lives have been lost. …Our thoughts are with the bereaved families,” a statement from the FO said after receiving the news of the attack.

The FO reiterated that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Much like the past, Indians had soon after the start of the attack that continued for several hours began pointing fingers at Pakistan. Indian security officials have claimed that the attackers entered Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan two days before reaching Gurdaspur.

“We extend heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the government and people of India and wish the wounded speedy and full recovery,” the FO said.
