Electoral lists displayed

LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday displayed new electoral lists at the offices of (vote) registration officers and assistant registration officers in Punjab so that people can verify if their names were included in the lists or not.

The lists will remain on display for seven days (up till July 27) for inspection. For enrollment, deletion or correction, the person concerned will have to fill in and submit prescribed forms (A, B and C, respectively).

The voters may also check their voting details by sending their CNIC numbers (without hash or space) to 8300 through SMS.

The exercise is being under taken in connection with forthcoming local government elections to be held in Punjab on Sept 20, 2015.

The ECP says so far it has included 3.95 million new CNICs in the electoral rolls. Around 136,530 computerized national identity cards (CNICs) of deceased and disqualified voters have also been excluded from the rolls in Punjab.
