CCPO checks security at mosques, imambargahs

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains visited various mosques and imambargahs to check security for Friday prayers.

He also met administrators of mosques and other worship places to inquire about security measures taken to provide a safe environment for worship.

He said they had launched the ‘You Pray, We Guard’ project for security of worship places. He also increased security at different mosques on the complaint of administrators.

Moreover addressing at a weekly meeting held to review performance of admin officers at Alhamra Hall, he said strict action would be taken against the admin officers who were found guilty or failed to address grievances of people visiting police stations.

Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) Dr Haider Ashraf of operations and Sultan Chaudhry of investigation as well as Crimes Investigation Agency Superintendent of Police Umar Virk were also present on the occasion.

The CCPO said the goal of launching the admin officer projects at police stations was to change the thana culture.

Umar Virk, also the chief admin officer, briefed the CCPO about the performance of admin officers. He said the officers of Lorry Adda, Sarwar Road, Badami Bagh, Manga Mandi police stations were performing and resolving the problems of citizens.
