GHALLANAI, Oct 9: Afghan militia targeted Pakistan’s border checkpoints with mortar shells in the Mohmand region on Tuesday night.

Military officials, however, denied the reports of the attack and said the forces stationed along the Durand Line were alert to meet any aggression.

Witnesses said checkpoints in Sam Ghakhi and Yaqoobi Kandau near Kodakhel came under fire. The Pakistani forces did not retaliate.— Correspondent
