KARACHI, Oct 8: Sindh chief minister Ali Mohammed Mahar has described the law and order situation in Sindh as much better and said the conditions in Karachi are satisfactory.

He stated this while referring to a statement of the interior minister as reported in a section of the press.

Mahar said that law and order in Sindh was much better compared to the other province, said a statement issued here on Wednesday.

He said the provincial government and law enforcing organizations were in full control of the situation maintaining strict watch on terrorists, anti-state forces and those disturbing law and order.

The chief minister said the provincial government, police, administration and law enforcing agencies would spare no effort in providing security to life, property and dignity of the people.

He said that police had been issued directives in that regard and action would be taken against officials found negligent.

UPLIFT PROJECTS: Sindh chief minister, Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar, on Wednesday said that all possible steps were being taken for the development of Tharparker’s backward areas and development projects in those areas were being executed on priority basis.

Addressing a meeting of provincial ministers and MPAs at the chief minister’s house, he reiterated that the present government was committed to resolve the problems faced by the masses in the province.

The chief minister ordered an inquiry into the incident of canal-breaching, and directed strict action against the persons found involved in the act. He also sought an early report on the rehabilitation of those affected by the incident.

He told the meeting that the Sindh government was implementing various schemes through PTCL, Sui Gas, WAPDA and other departments for provision of better facilities to the people in rural areas.

He informed the meeting that a gas supply project for Aubaro at a cost of Rs23.6 million had been approved, while dialysis machines were being provided to all district hospitals and all taluka hospitals would get ambulances.—APP/PPI
