PESHAWAR, Oct 7: The Sarhad Transport Workers Confederation on Tuesday criticized the raid on two Punjab-bound buses allegedly by a Jamaat-i-Islami MNA and a provincial minister.

Speaking at a news conference here at the Peshawar Press Club, STWC leader Mohammad Zahir Shah Yousufzai claimed that MNA Sabir Hussain Awan and Zakat and Welfare Minister Hafiz Hashmat Ali arrived at the Peshawar Bus Terminal with sticks-wielding workers of Jamaat-i-Islami and searched two buses heading for Lahore and Faisalabad.

He said they ordered the passengers out of the buses, conducted a search of their luggage and seized two television sets. The minister then called the police and gave the buses into the police custody.
