HYDERABAD, Oct 5: The Secondary Schools Gazetted Officers Association has demanded that the posting orders of promoted gazetted officers should be issued without further delay.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club on Sunday, the office-bearers of the association said following the departmental promotion committee meeting of March 25, the government had issued a notification on May 30, promoting 135 man and 66 woman officers to grade-18.

They regretted that after the lapse of over four months the notification had not been implemented. They added headmasters and headmistresses promoted under the notification were still waiting for letters, said some of them had retired without assuming new posts and one of them, Arbab Khatoon, had even died.

On the pther hand, they complained, hundreds of grade-18 posts were lying vacant throughout Sindh and under-grade and 17-grade officers were working on the grade-18 posts.

They said pending move-over cases of different cadres had also not been decided for a long time and added postings orders of the grade-20 had not been issued.

They demanded posting orders should be issued without delay and pending move-over cases should be disposed of to end unrest among the gazetted officers.

Those who spoke at the news conference included the provincial general secretary of the association, Mohammad Sajan Mallah, joint secretary, Saeeda Khatoon, and district president, Syed Saleemul Haq.
