Anti-polio campaign

HYDERABAD, Oct 4: The district Nazim has appointed a three- member committee to identify the areas of poor coverage during the previous rounds of anti-polio campaign.

The decision, taken at a meeting of the polio eradication committee held at the district Nazim secretariat here on Friday, is aimed at adopting a strategy to maintain the status of zero polio case level of the district.

District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman asked the committee, headed by EDO (health) Dr Ashraf Bhurgari, to submit its report before the next three-day round of anti-polio campaign was launched on Oct 14.

The EDO told the meeting that two missed areas, one each at Hala and Tando Allahyar, were identified and then covered and that in the last round, 94 per cent of the children under the age of five were vaccinated in Hyderabad city.
