LAHORE, Oct 2: The government must airlift pesticides in order to save cotton crop from the heavy pest attack, Farmers Associates Pakistan demanded on Thursday.

In a press release issued here, the FAP said that cotton crop had come under massive pest attack in the southern part of the Punjab and pesticides were not available in required quantity.

“Pesticides available in the market are reported to be spurious,” it said. The FAP urged the government to force private companies to adjust the demand-supply requirements and keep a space for manoeuvrability as far as pesticides were concerned. —Staff Reporter
