THATTA, Oct 2: Two siblings, Asghar Babbar, 5, and Zahida Babbar, 1, died of measles in the Chachar Babbar village, near Jhimpir, on Wednesday.

The villagers claimed that the district health department was apprised about the outbreak of measles in the area but in vain.

However, the health department had recently administered tetanus toxoid vaccines to the people of the area under the Mother Neonatal Tetanus Programme.

The villagers fear that if concrete steps are not taken to control the disease, it might spread to other areas.
