Photographer manhandled by Rangers personnel

KARACHI: Faysal Mujeeb, a White Star photographer who works for Dawn, was beaten up by Rangers personnel at the Memon Medical Hospital where the bus attack victims were brought on Wednesday morning.

Mr Mujeeb said he along with some other media persons was performing his duty inside the hospital when the Rangers asked for his camera and mobile phones. As he refused to hand them over, the personnel allegedly thrashed him.

However, the Rangers spokesperson claimed that the paramilitary force personnel saved Mr Mujeeb and other media persons from the wrath of an angry mob there. The personnel also protected the equipment of the photographer, otherwise the mob was bent upon destroying it, said the official.
