Dist council rejects govt uplift schemes

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Oct 1: The district council on Wednesday rejected development schemes sent by the Sindh chief minister secretariat, ministers, MNAs, MPAs and the chief secretary, contending only council members were entitled to submit, approve and execute schemes.

The council meeting approved 194 schemes submitted by the treasury members. While it rejected three schemes recommended by the People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA, Syed Zafar Ali Shah.

On this the Awam Dost members raised slogans against the decision and staged a walk out from the session. The session was postponed after half an hour.

The members of the Awam Dost Panel, staged a sit-in in the courtyard of district council building and condemned the attitude of Syed-Jatoi Ittehad.

They said council members would not accept Waderashahi schemes.
