LAHORE, Sept 30: Pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar joined the Pakistan team on Tuesday for the forthcoming home series against South Africa, starting from Friday.

Shoaib was the only absentee from the 16-member squad announced for the series. The squad has been attending a training camp at Gaddafi Stadium since Sept 26.
