DAGGAR: The local chapter of the Awami National Party on Saturday announced the establishment of a five members parliamentary council to award tickets for the upcoming elections of village, tehsil and district councils.

It also announced the launch of election campaign in the district.

The announcement was made during the party’s general council meeting in Swari.

The parliamentary council consists of Mohammad Karim Babak, Shujaat Ali Khan, Mir Ali Khan, Rahim Zada and Sultan Room.

Awami National Party interim president Rahim Zada told participants of the meeting that the council would receive applications for party tickets in the district office in Swari from April 8 to April 10.

He said the party’s district negotiation committee would hold talks with representatives of allies to decide about seat adjustments at village, tehsil and district council levels for the upcoming local government elections.

Rahim Zada said all the activists of Awami National Party would stick to the leadership’s commitment to seat adjustment with other parties.

He said in case of any problem, seat adjustments would be decided with consensus.

The ANP leader also announced the launch of the party’s election campaign in the district.

Rahim Zada urged the activists of Awami National Party to contact the people in the district for getting their support in the upcoming local government elections, which would be held in May as announced by the provincial government in KP.
