LAHORE, Sept 23: In its ongoing crackdown on human traffickers, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested two more accused besides tracing another two.

Spotted in Daska, brothers Imranullah Wariach and Saifullah Wariach were on interim bail. Their names were among the six traffickers whose identity was revealed by Iran.

Also on the Iranian list, Shafqatullah Butt was picked up by FIA on Monday from the same town, Daska

Assistant director (passport cell) Arif Bokhari said the two brothers were bound to appear before the agency on alternative days for interrogation. He said the agency would try to get their bail cancelled.

Mr Bokhari said the FIA had already received a number of complaints against them. He said the names of several money changers and travel agents who connived with them would surface soon.

The Iranian embassy got the names of six traffickers after interrogating those Pakistanis who were caught travelling against fake passports in a bid to enter Europe via Iran, Turkey and Greece.

Meanwhile, the FIA arrested two more human traffickers from Faisalabad.

Speaking at a news conference in Faisalabad, FIA deputy director (Faisalabad circle) Rana Muhammad Iqbal said that during a crackdown on human traffickers accused Shaukat Ali was arrested.

The ring leader of a gang of traffickers, Ali extorted money from people for helping the get lucrative jobs abroad.

On his disclosures, the agency arrested Maqbool Ahmed who confessed to having received Rs1.5 million from a dozen people.
