ISLAMABAD, Dec 22: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) is launching an “art bazaar” on Sunday that will continue as a regular weekly feature in the new year.
The “Sunday Art Bazaar” will be held at the National Art Gallery in Sector F-7/4 and is aimed at promoting the national arts, craft and culture.
The bazaar will offer paintings in all mediums and styles as well as sculptures, pieces of calligraphies, works in ceramics, photographs and art literature. Books carrying reproductions of master-painters of the country will also be available at the bazaar.
Painters, artisans and artistes of stage, film and radio are expected to participate in the bazaar.
Cultural bodies, foreign missions and the intellectual community have widely lauded the idea because of its potential for fostering awareness about the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
The bazaar will prove an effective instrument of nurturing a sense of pride and belonging in the people for the local artisans and indigenous arts.
The Pakistan National Council of the Arts has invited artists, artisans, entrepreneurs, art lovers, students and teachers to participate in the bazaar and help build a culture of integration.
