BADIN, Sept 23: PML-Q Senator Yasmin Shah and MPA Syed Ali Bux Shah, in a joint press statement here on Tuesday, said farmers of rain-hit areas of the district would soon be able to resume cultivation as their losses would be compensated through a special package by the federal government.

They said they were in touch with Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz and the chairman of Zarai Taraqiati Bank for allocating loans to rain victims and writing off outstanding ones.

The package might include interest-free loan from the House Building Finance Corporation, agricultural loans, writing off of small loans, re-designing of the LBOD, installation of a grid station at Tando Bago and provision of gas connections to Pingrio, Nindo Shaher and Khoski towns, they added.

They said the prime minister had sanctioned construction of roads from Badin to Tando Bago, Pingrio to Jhuddo and Vanai to the Shahnawaz Junejo village.

Meanwhile, MPA Syed Ali Bux Shah has expressed his support to workers of the Army Welfare Sugar Mills and assured them that their problems would be solved at all costs.

DEALERS WARNED: Strong legal action against dealers selling adulterated seeds, pesticides and fertilizers would be taken.

This was decided at a meeting held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Badin DCO Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah.

The meeting, attended by Sindh Seed Corporation managing director Khalid Mehmood Soomro, EDO (agriculture) Ayaz Memon and others, was told that after the rains, some dealers were selling spurious goods to farmers.
