SANGHAR, Sept 22: The Sinjhoro police on Sunday arrested two men, Nawaz and Bux Ali Brohi, on the charges of killing a transporter on Saturday.

A brawl had taken place at Rukkan Burira on Saturday between two groups of transporters over the schedule on running buses on the Hyderabad route.

A driver, Mohammad Hassan Khaskheli alias Naddo, who was also the owner of a bus, was beaten up with sticks and iron rods as a result of which he was seriously injured. He died on the way to hospital.

TELEX MACHINE: The telex machine at the telegraph office, Tando Adam, has been lying out of order for the last 45 days.

The fault has not been fixed by the authorities concerned despite repeated complaints by the people.

The telegrams from Tando Adam are sent by ordinary post to Hyderabad and other cities.

The people of Tando Adam have appealed to the authorities concerned to redress their grievance as soon as possible.

LANDMINES: The people of the Nohio Abra village in Achhro, Thar, are scared of stepping on landmines ever since two men were killed last week.

The two, Achario and Reshmo Bheel, were killed about a week ago when one of them stepped on a landmine while grazing their cattle.

After their death, 11 unexploded mortar shells were recovered by the army.

The mortar shells are said to have been left by the army during the 1965 war with India.

The councillors of the area, Okomal and Mukhi Hiromal, demanded compensation for the dead men as they were the only bread earners for their families.
