International cricket to be played in AJK

MIRPUR, Sept 19: In order to promote the international cricket in Azad Jammu Kashmir, one-day and Test international cricket matches will be played in the newly established Quaid-e-Azam International Sports Stadium in Mirpur Azad Kashmir next year.

Necessary steps are being initiated to promote playing of first class cricket in Mirpur.

This was disclosed by the chief secretary of Azad Jammu Kashmir government Shahid Rafi, will addressing a luncheon hosted in his honour by the District Cricket Association Mirpur.

The chief secretary, who is also Chairman of AJK Cricket Association, earlier inaugurated the Cricket Academy.

He revealed that all is almost set to open the Quaid-i-Azam stadium comprising four pavilions and the seating capacity of over 25,0000.—APP
