LAHORE, Sept 19: Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif says talks between the “B-team” of the dictator and the MMA on the LFO issue are nothing but an attempt to hoodwink the nation.
In a press statement issued by the PML-N here on Friday, Mr Sharif said talks with political forces were aimed at misleading the world conscience.
Mr Sharif said dictatorial rules never came to an end through talks. For this purpose, he said, all patriotic and democratic forces would have to get united and active.
He said the LFO was a set of contradictory laws and misdoings. A uniformed president was insisting on keeping parliament, democracy and the constitution hostage at gunpoint.
Pakistan, Mr Sharif said, stood isolated at the international because of the short-sighted policies of the regime. According to him, even neighbouring Iran and Afghanistan were no longer willing to trust Pakistan.
He said it was strange that the rulers were beseeching India to come to the negotiating table but they felt in below their dignity to talks to the real leadership of the country.
Mr Sharif said provincial prejudices were cropping up because of the wrong policies of the rulers on certain sensitive matters.
