Four killed in Ghazni blast

GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Sept 18: Four people were killed when a car bomb exploded in front of the home of a senior police officer in eastern Afghanistan, a security official said on Thursday.

Three bodyguards of police commander Ismael and a passerby were killed in the blast late on Wednesday, the official told AFP, asking not to be identified.

The blast occurred in Ghazni, capital of the province of the same name, 120 kilometres southwest of Kabul.

The victims were buried on Thursday, an AFP reporter witnessed. Ghazni province borders Paktia and Paktika provinces.—AFP
