KASUR, Sept 18: Prime Minister Mir Zafrullah Khan Jamali on Thursday announced Rs40 million for the provision of electricity to villages near the Sutlej river.

He also promised a grant for the provision of clean drinking water to Kasur, and Sui gas to Khudian and Chunian while speaking at a public meeting at Khudian, about 24 kilometres from here.

The prime minister pledged that the government would fund construction of roads from the fields to market.

CHIEF MINISTER: Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi announced that the government would provide five-marla plots to the poor.

He also announced early construction of the Lahore-Kasur dual carriageway. He announced a grant of Rs15 million for the renovation of the shrine of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah (RA).

GOVERNOR: The Punjab governor said the project of providing Sui gas to Kasur was near its completion.

KASURI: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood said the district required a lot of development, urging the prime minister to order mega projects here.

He stressed that the shortage of water should be overcome so that farmers could irrigate their lands.

LAHORE: Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri gifted a fine quality breed buffalo, reared in areas around the Sutlej, to Prime Minister Mir Zafrullah Khan Jamali, APP reported.
