Man injured as robbers hit five times

KASUR: A man was injured by robbers for offering resistance in one of the five incidents of highway robberies reported from the Kasur area on Monday.

In the first incident, four robbers intercepted a van, driven by Akram, near the Lahore Electric Supply Company’s office on Changa Manga Road. They held the driver and passengers hostage at gunpoint and took away cash and mobile phones from them.

Earlier, the same gang deprived car riders Khalid Mahmood and Bilal of cash worth Rs40,000 and two mobile phones at gunpoint.

In a separate incident, three robbers, including a woman, intercepted a van on Ferozepur Road near Pakki Haveli. They forced the driver to take the van to a deserted place away from Ferozepur Road, collected cash, mobile phones and other valuables from the passengers and managed their escape.

In yet another incident, four gunmen shot at and injured a man during a robbery bid at village Masrah Das in the limits of Phoolnagar Sadar police.

Fiaz Shah of Ghuman village was going to his home in a rickshaw when four armed men intercepted him and tried to snatch cash and rickshaw. One of the robbers shot at and injured Shah when he put up resistance. The injured was rushed to Phoolnagar RHC.

Two robbers took away Rs130,000 and a mobile phone from a filling station employee near Umer Wattoo Chowk, Chunian.
