KARACHI: Nazim resolves to make city green

KARACHI, Sept 13: The city Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that plantation of date palms on major thoroughfares of the city would improve environment, and more family parks would be constructed in the city.

He was addressing different ceremonies, of renovation of Jamaa Masjid Park Poposhnagar in North Nazimabad Town, and of inaugurations of Abdur Rahman Shaheed Park, Ghayoor Anwar Shahid Park and Saeed Bin Zia Shahid Park in union council 9, Liaqatabad Town, here on Saturday.

The Nazim said that a remarkable increase in trees, greenery and parks had been recorded after the induction of the new system, and the city government would construct more parks on open land to make the city beautiful for the people.

He said pay more attention should be paid to mohalla parks for women and children, besides cementing of streets and repair of streetlights and sewerage systems.

“More parks will be built in the coming days to make the city green, as was promised to people of the city,” said the Nazim.

STUDENT EXCHANGE: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that an exchange agreement between the 20-best schools of Karachi and Lahore will be made for teachers and students and “now it depends upon students and teachers how they improve their educational capabilities and merits”.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new building of Wazir Jahan Girls Secondary School, Naseerabad, the city Nazim said we could face challenges and dangers with unity and it all depended on the younger generation.—PPI
