KARACHI, Dec 21: Pakistan and Afghanistan Defence Council (PADC) on Friday unanimously rejected the proposed ordinance against religious parties and religious schools.
The central leaders of PADC, sounding a note of warning, said they would never allow the government to implement the proposed ordinance at any cost; and also announced to resist the approach of the government which clearly manifests its ill-intentions.
In a meeting held in Karachi to review the latest developments taking place in Afghanistan following the fall of the Taliban government, they said the proposed ordinance would provide the government an opportunity to launch an operation against religious parties and madressahs as the whole exercise appears to be an attempt by the government to appease the US.”
The meeting expressed the apprehension that America under the pretext of war against terrorism may target Kashmir in its zest to perish Jehad in Kashmir. They claimed that prolonged US stay in Afghanistan would spell disaster for the Kashmir cause.
The meeting felt that America is cherishing four major objectives which include elimination of Islamic state of Afghanistan, occupation of national resources of Central Asia and to accomplish these objectives establish permanent airbases in Afghanistan.—PPI
