PESHAWAR, Sept 12: The Peshawar High Court on Friday granted bail to a woman accused of drug pushing.
A single bench comprising Justice Fazalur Rehman Khan directed that the accused-applicant, Mahr Taj, be released after she furnishes two sureties of Rs2,00,000 each.
The woman was arrested by East Cantonment police station on May 31, 2003. The police allegedly recovered 5 kilograms of heroin from her possession. She was booked under section 9 of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act, 1997.
Advocate Zar Muhammad Afridi appeared for the applicant and argued that she was falsely implicated in the case. He contended that being a woman she was entitled to bail.
