MULTAN: Three-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya and Hazrat Khwaja Suleman Taunsvi and Hazrat Khwaja Nizam Mahmood Taunsvi began on Friday in Multan and Taunsa Sharif, respectively.

The 775th Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya began at his shrine at Qila Kuhna Qasim Bagh.

Shrine caretaker Shah Mahmood Qureshi performed the ‘ghusal’ of the mausoleum.

To pay a tribute to the saint, a National Zakariya Conference was also held which was addressed by various religious scholars.

District Coordination Officer Zahid Saleem Gondal announced a local holiday on Saturday (today) in connection with the Urs. Meanwhile, the 164th Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Shah Muhammad Suleman Taunsvi and Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Taunsvi began at Taunsa Sharif.

Caretaker Khwaja Attaullah Taunsvi and Khwaja Nassarul Mahmood Taunsvi performed the ‘ghusal’ ceremonies.
