NAB recovers Rs365m

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered about Rs365 million over the last two months under plea bargain deals and will transfer the amount to relevant authorities, including federal/provincial governments and banks, and victims of several scams.

At a meeting on Thursday, NAB chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry approved transfer/distribution of the money recovered from different accused.

According to a NAB spokesman, Rs130m will be disbursed to federal and provincial governments, Rs1.7m to banks, Rs97.8m to some departments, Rs49.4m to electricity companies and Rs86.5m to people affected by the scams. NAB’s recoveries show an im­­provement as compared to July and August, when the bureau had recovered Rs141m.
