ISLAMABAD, Sept 5: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) holds leasing rights of four stadiums in the country, said Minister for Sports and Tourism, Rais Munir Ahmad on Friday.
In a written reply to a question by MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur in National Assembly, he said, the stadiums are Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, National Stadium Karachi, Multan cricket Stadium and Bugti Stadium Quetta.
PCB is also in the process of acquiring other stadia including Pindi Stadium, he said.
About the list of members of PCB, their tenures and remunerations, the Minister replied present Board is run by one man ad-hoc committee headed by Lt. Gen. Tauqir Zia who is Chairman of PCB.
He said this is an honourary position nominated by the President in his capacity as Patron of Pakistan Cricket Board.
He is not paid any salary. The perks and privileges enjoyed by the Chairman (also previous chairmen) are :
Paid Rs. 1500 per day while in PCB Head Quarters.
This is to meet his meals and accommodation charges.
Paid $ 100 per day during his visit aborad.
He is entitled 2 x cars (one at camp office for multifarious duties), mobile telephone, business class travel, telephone at his residence.
To another question, Rais said currently no public representative from Senate/National Assembly holds seat as member of the PCB.—APP
