MUZAFFARABAD, Sept 5: Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan said on Friday that government is utilizing all available resources for improvement of educational standards in Azad Kashmir.
He was addressing a meeting of education department officials here.
He said efforts were being made to provide education to the common man besides raising standard in educational institutions.
The prime minister said his government was striving to end ignorance and backwardness from the society.
He added that the government of Muslim Conference had spread a network of educational institutions in Azad Kashmir.
The prime minister said education and other civic amenities would be ensured for the areas along the Line of Control (LoC).
He approved establishment of two degree colleges and two intermediate colleges besides upgradation of 60 middle schools to high schools and 100 primary schools to middle schools.
The two degree colleges, one each for boys and girls, would be established in Barnala, Bhimber district.
Barnala is located along the LoC and the area has no degree college.
Two intermediate colleges for boy students would be set up in Muzaffarabad and Sadhonti. —APP
