PESHAWAR, Sept 2: An anti-terrorism court here on Tuesday sentenced a man to death after he was proved guilty of killing an army man.
The presiding officer of the court, Akhter Zareef Khan, observed that the prosecution had proved its case against the accused beyond any shadow of doubt. The convict, Mudassar Ali Shah, son of Tajdar Ali Shah, of Nauthia Jadeed, faced trial for killing an army man, Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Sanghar, on Jan 3, 2003.
The case was registered at the East Cant Police Station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti- Terrorism Act, 1997.
According to the prosecution the convict and the deceased had exchanged hot words at a shop in Nauthia Jadeed following which the convict killed Ghulam Nabi. After the incident the accused had escaped from the spot, but was later arrested.
