MOMBASA, Sept 1: Hundreds of German and Swiss tourists were evacuated as fire tore through a hotel complex on Monday at the Kenyan coastal resort of Mombasa, police and hotel workers said.

A police spokesman said no casualties had been reported. The cause of the blaze at the complex of four hotels was not immediately known and an investigation had been launched.—Reuters
