QUETTA, Aug 31: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Balochistan, has dissociated itself from all militant groups in the country and decided to hold a big public gathering soon in Quetta to strengthen solidarity in the province to thwart the designs of anti-Islamic forces.
A statement in this regard was made on Saturday at a meeting of the provincial MMA executive committee here at MPA hostel. The meeting presided over by MNA Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani was held to discuss the tragic incident of Quetta, which claimed 52 lives, and law and order situation here.
The meeting observed that the attack was not sectarian act but was the trick of some institutions and their internal tussles to create dissension among the Muslims.
“The MMA disowns relations with all militant groups and has nothing to do with the armed groups working in whichever name. The religious parties are not responsible for such barbaric acts as these are performed by mercenaries and professionals,” stated participants.
They decided to hold an impressive public meeting in the provincial capital in near future that would be addressed by the MMA central leadership in order to strengthen the brotherly relations of the people the province.
The meeting adopted a resolution condemning the elements who had disturbed a function of the Islami Jamiat Talaba at the government college, Loralai, and demanded the government that the accused be arrested and expelled from the college.
Among participants of the meeting were: Maulana Abdul Haq Baloch, Allama Yaqoob Ali Tawasli, Syed Abdul Manan Shah, Maulvi Shafi Daulatai, Senator Haji Rehmatullah, Abdul Matin Akundzada, etc.
