PESHAWAR, Aug 30: World’s fastest bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, who rattled the Bangladesh with his first 10-wicket haul has expressed his unhappiness of being not part the team for third Test at Multan.
The third Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh will play from Sept 3. Shoaib’s 10 for 80 is also the best-ever bowling performance by any bowler at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, beating Mushtaq Ahmed’s 10 for 106 against West Indies in 1997-98.
In a post match talk, Shoaib said leaving the team was hard for him, adding, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have committed that I will be released after second Test to help English County Durham.
“This is the reason why I will not be the part of national squad in third Test.”
Shoaib, who was released by Durham for the first two Tests of Pakistan-Bangladesh series, said in the absence of Muhammad Sami, it seemed pretty awkward to go England and play cricket. “I think team need me,” Shoaib said.
“I am happy that the skipper entrusted me the responsibility of leading Pakistan bowling attack in the absence of great Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. I am also happy that I shouldered the responsiblity”.
Shoaib said he was not for records.
“I am not playing for the records. I play for my team” he declared—APP
