GUJRANWALA, Aug 30: Wahando police station SHO Rashid Sindhu, who was transferred by the DPO on Friday on the charge of favouring the PML-Q’s nominee for the Kamoki tehsil Nazim’s slot, has been posted back on Saturday.

According to reports, District Returning Officer, D&SJ Riazul Hassan Alvi, visited Wahando and Kamoki along with DPO Saud Aziz to direct the aspirants for the Kamoki Nazim’s election to act on the code of conduct for polls.

Rana Asif, a nominee of prime minister’s political adviser Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan, told the judge that Provincial Transport Minister Chaudhry Shamshad Ahmad Khan had been canvassing for his brother Chaudhry Sajjad Ahmad Khan, while Acting Tehsil Nazim Zakaullah Baryar and Naib Nazim Mian Imtiaz had been utilizing official funds and other resources for the election campaign.

Mr Asif also alleged that his political rivals had been threatening his supporters with dire consequences to win their votes. He said the Wahando PS SHOs were being transferred at the behest of the provincial minister.

The judge cancelled the transfer orders of Inspector Rashid Sindhu and brought him back to Wahando, saying no transfer could be made during the election days.

He also summoned the acting tehsil Nazim and his deputy, who denied the charges.
