COLOMBO, Aug 29: A magnificent allround performance by Jahangir Mirza earned Pakistan an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the Under-19 one-day contest at Galle International Stadium on Friday.

The Lahore-born 16-year-old youngster first claimed four for 24 from 6.3 overs with his nagging off-spin to spun out the home side for 188 in 48.3 overs after Pakistani skipper Khalid Latif won the toss and elected to field.

Then he showed his skills with the bat to hammer unbeaten 73 from 119 balls, hammering five fours and a six, as the visitors coasted to an easy success for their third successive victory, reaching 194 for the loss of one wickets in in 47.3 overs

Khalid also batted well, hitting a rousing undefeated 94 with the aid of five fours and as many sixes as the Pakistani pair put on highly entertaining 178 for the unbroken second wicket to pulverise the opposition bowling.
