Musharraf gifts horses to Putin

ISLAMABAD, July 22: A gift of thoroughbred horses from President Gen Pervez Musharraf for President Vladimir Putin was handed over to Russian officials on Tuesday.

Pakistan’s Ambassador Syed Iftikhar Murshed handed over the horses to officials of the Kremlin and the Russian foreign affairs ministry at President Putin’s country estate.

A message from the embassy quoted the Russian officials as saying that the “gift symbolized growing friendship between Pakistan and Russia and in particular the rapport between the presidents” of the two countries.

They expressed confidence that the relations between the countries would grow.—APP
