ISLAMABAD, July 21: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said on Monday that no nation could achieve its greater national objectives without attaining quality education in science and technology.
Talking to a contingent of students and teachers of the Wilderness School, Quetta, who called on him at Prime Minister’s House, he said his government was committed to providing higher levels of quality education.
He said education led to prosperity of a nation. “No nation can achieve its national objectives realistically without attaining quality education in the field of science and technology,” he said.
The 25-member contingent is touring the Northern Areas and the capital.
The prime minister said the government was striving to achieve the required level of literacy and higher education by opening new schools and promoting quality education.
He said private institutions were playing an important role in imparting quality education besides improving sports talent.
He urged the private sector to share the responsibility with the public sector of educating the society.
“Achieving excellence in science and technology can place us at an honourable position in the world,” the prime ministersaid.—APP
