ATC sends 6 PAT workers on physical remand, 121 others on judicial remand

GUJRANWALA: A special anti-terrorism court in Gujranwala ordered six workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to be sent on seven days of physical remand in a case pertaining to alleged kidnapping and physical assault of policemen while 121 other workers were sent to jail on judicial remand.

The anti terror court was under tight security during the trial of the arrested workers of PAT who are accused of assaulting police personnel.

Due to the shortage of handcuffs the accused were tied with ropes.

The investigation team pleaded the court for physical remand of six main accused due to their possession of automatic weapons and sticks used during the incident.

The accused had later kidnapped DSP Rashid Sindhu, taken government documents, mobile phones and cash, which is to yet to be recovered.

The court directed for the provision of medical facilities to all accused while it ordered for immediate medical attention to the injured accused.
