KARACHI, July 17: Work on the overhaul of the Civil Hospital’s drainage system, kicked off in the middle of last month, was stopped by its medical superintendent on Thursday on the advice of a consultant.

The consultant, after inspecting the work done by the government functionaries, reached the conclusion that the same was unsatisfactory. He was of the view that the concrete pipes planned to be used by the government officials were not up to the mark.

A meeting would soon be held to discuss the situation. The meeting will be attended, among others, by government officials, private consultants and senior hospital staff, the hospital’s medical superintendent told Dawn.
